Be careful of what you wish for in voting booth

How could America, which was founded on traditional Judeo-Christian principles, ever have developed into a secular, violent society with a culture of death? Consider the following scenarios as possible causes.

Ever since the atheist Madalyn Murray O'Hair had prayer removed from our public schools in the early 1960s, Christianity has been under constant assault. Freedom “of” religion has become freedom “from” religion. The progressive secularists want “one nation under God” removed from our Pledge of Allegiance to the flag. They attempt to have public Christian displays removed at Christmastime. Whenever and wherever God is rejected, “all hell breaks loose.”

Then, Jan. 22, 1973, the U.S. Supreme Court gave all women the “right to choose to kill” their own unborn and partially born babies by abortion. About this, Pope John Paul II said: “A nation that kills its own children is a nation without hope.” If babies can be killed legally, why not “old,” “handicapped” and “inconvenient” people? Our government will determine those whom they consider no longer productive, and a costly burden to society. Their solution will be the legalization of euthanasia. Then we will have no respect for life from the “womb to the tomb.”

Finally, “we the people” of this country could learn a valuable lesson by heeding the words of a paraphrased adage: Be careful what you wish for in the voting booth, you just might get it and “live” to regret it, if you're lucky!
