Put a casino in every town
The Gazette Opinion Staff

We are making this casino scenario all too complicated. All those signatures to force a casino vote and, if passed, approval by the Racing and Gaming Commission. Let's just cut to the chase. Put a casino in every town in Iowa whether they want it or not. With a casino in every town, they can filch more money out of the people. This will make the small town leaders happy and feel important. They can spend this casino filch on unnecessary projects. It's a win-win situation for everyone.
Even the loser gamblers win. They can lose more in their local casino because they won't have to spend extra money for gas. It's a sad society that we have become when we make casinos and sports gods.
