CEDAR RAPIDS -- Back-to-back baskets by Peter Holmes triggered a key fourth-quarter run, and Cedar Rapids Washington edged Cedar Rapids Prairie, 46-43, in a Mississippi Valley Conference boys' basketball game Friday night at Washington.With the game tied at 36-all, Holmes scored on a pair of inside baskets. Heath Clark added a pair of free throws to make it a six-point lead, then the Warriors (3-14 overall, 3-9 MVC) held on.Prairie (5-12, 4-8) got within 42-41, but missed three straight free throws with a chance to take the lead.David Rosenthal led Washington with 15 points, and Holmes added 13.Tyler Mougin and DeMetrius Harper scored 10 apiece for Prairie.Washington overcame an early nine-point lead, getting within 23-21 by halftime. It was 33-all after three quarters.
