Pictures lead to better understanding

A few days ago while reading the back picture page of The Gazette, I thought that the colorful photos from all over the world were very interesting and thought-provoking. Then, to my surprise, there was a letter (“Images from Iowa much more interesting,” April 2, Maureen Kern), commenting that she would rather see photos about Iowa than the customs from small countries around the world.
I thank you for including these unusual photos depicting life in other areas of the world so that we are “out of our box” for the moment and learning about cultures quite different from our own. Hopefully, this education will lead to a better understanding of others and peace throughout the world.
