Linn-Mar's Lassen chooses Kirkwood

MARION - After he decommitted from Division I Albany this past winter, Matt Lassen said he wanted to play college basketball closer to home. Doesn't get any closer than this.The Linn-Mar senior has decided to remain in town and play for Kirkwood Community College. The 6-foot-5 swingman had offers from Division I Florida Gulf Coast and some Division II schools.He visited Northern Iowa and Drake, where he had walk-on offers. Lassen averaged 10.6 points this past season for Linn-Mar.
