We need more bravery

If we truly had a liberal media, then some of the myths created by the right would have long ago been debunked. To name just a couple:
It is only they who are brave enough to stand up to a dictatorial government.
It is only they whose intent it is to curb government overreach so as to “protect” our rights.
It is only they who are the true “patriots” whose only intent is to defend the Constitution - albeit, they virtually come out of their bunkers only to defend the Second Amendment.
“Bravery” has become an all too common term ascribed to too many. I would not call any brave who not only need to have guns in their homes but need to pack heat to go anywhere, even to elementary schools. Our Lord Jesus Christ epitomized bravery; Mohandas Gandhi and The Rev. Martin Luther King stood their grounds without arming themselves.
The Patriot Act made “legal” far too many previously illegal government activities, such as entering some homes without search warrants and taking whatever items they pleased, accomplished with virtually no cries of government overreach by conservatives. In addition, too many Americans have become disenfranchised with many more Americans being in the cross hairs of conservatives.
Stop and frisk virtually any person by government officials seems to be all right with too many of these “super patriots.” Is that because, so far anyway, it is overly used only against black and brown people?
We need less bravado and more actual bravery.
