We need a change of heart

Changing gun laws will not do anything to improve our country. What is needed is change of heart. In the not too distant past the thought of murdering children would not even come to mind. “You reap what you sow!” What we have sown since the end of World War II is a shift away from dependency on God to being self-sufficient where we are so great.
We no longer hear the lessons “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.” Or the Ten Commandments, which are the rules that all other rules are based on. No. 1 is “I, the Lord, am your God. You shall not have other gods besides me.” No. 4 is “Honor your father and your mother.” The very base to family. No. 5 and No. 6 are you shall not kill and commit adultery.
Replacing God in our society with self is rampant as more than 40 percent of our citizens claim to be “secular,” which means “temporal; worldly; not of the church.” When we allow the very heartbeat of the world (God) to be reduced to secular influences, the evil in human nature increases and we have lack of love and respect for others.
Life becomes cheapened when 50 million-plus children are murdered in the womb. That subtle message causes some people to not appreciate the value of life.
