Home prices rise in Cedar Rapids, Iowa City, statewide

The housing recovery appeared to be continuing in April with home prices rising in Cedar Rapids, Iowa City and the state of Iowa.
Cedar Rapids home prices, including distressed sales, increased 2.6 percent in April compared with the same month of 2012, according to Irvine, Calif.-based CoreLogic. On a month-over-month basis, home prices, including distressed sales, rose 2.5 percent in April compared with March.
Excluding distressed sales, Cedar Rapids year-over-year home prices increased 3.4 percent in April compared with April 2012. On a month-over-month basis, excluding distressed sales, CoreLogic reported home prices rose 1.9 percent in April compared with March.
Iowa City home prices, including distressed sales, rose 1.9 percent in April compared with the same month last year. On a month-over-month basis, home prices, including distressed sales, increased 1.1 percent in April compared with March.
Excluding distressed sales, Iowa City year-over-year home prices rose 2.9 percent in April compared with the same period in 2012. On a month-over-month basis, excluding distressed sales, CoreLogic reported home prices increased 2.2 percent in April compared with March.
Statewide, home prices, including distressed sales, rose 1.7 percent in April compared with the same month last year. On a month-over-month basis, home prices, including distressed sales, increased 2.1 percent in April compared with March.
