Mount View homes need restored

I watched a recent television program about a historical house being restored. The owner had specifically moved to the city because of an opportunity to live in a historical home.
Considering this, I see that Cedar Rapids has made great strides in saving its historical areas, yet I have seen nothing done with the Central Park (Mound View) neighborhood. This neighborhood has grand old homes that are waiting to be restored, especially on B Avenue NE. It even has Grant Wood's boyhood home, which is supposed to be restored.
What about the rest of the neighborhood? This is the type of place that people would live in, if it was designated historical.
Let's save this neighborhood from slumlords and large institutional property owners who only care about money and are currently letting these grand homes fall into decay or be bulldozed.
