Branstad lobbies against Iowans
The Gazette Opinion Staff
Jul. 22, 2013 4:04 pm
With the number of polluted waterways in Iowa increasing and nitrate levels in our water at all-time highs, the fact that Gov. Terry Branstad is lobbying the Environmental Protection Agency on behalf of corporate agribusiness is an outrage.
Branstad is not simply expressing concern over potential EPA regulations burdening Iowa's “farm families or our communities,” he is working against the well-being of everyday Iowans in order to protect corporate ag from being held accountable for their devastation of Iowa's waterways and environment.
Branstad was elected by the people of Iowa, and should be looking out for our interests, not those of corporate ag.
