Monday night's Class 3A-4A prep baseball postseason scoreboard

Both Class 4A substate semifinal games in the Metro were suspended by rain.

Cedar Rapids Kennedy will play at Linn-Mar from the start at 7 p.m. Tuesday. Marshalltown will take a 3-2 lead at Cedar Rapids Prairie into the bottom of the third inning of their resumed game Tuesday at 7 p.m.

Marshalltown scored a run in the top of the second inning against Prairie starting pitcher Mitch Adams and added two in the third, including an RBI triple by Hunter Hillygus.

Prairie scored a run in the bottom of the second inning on a Blake Stallman RBI double down the left-field line and another in the third when Ty Mougin scored on a Brendan Hammer groundball to first base that was booted for an error.

When the game resumes Tuesday, Prairie will have cleanup hitter Tyler Butz at the plate with two outs in the third and no one on base.
