FORT DODGE -- This was a slugfest of historical proportions.No. 11 Clarke rapped a state-tournament record 21 hits and outscored No. 14 New Hampton, 17-8, in a Class 3A semifinal Thursday afternoon at the Rogers Sports Complex.The teams combined for seven home runs (four by New Hampton), also a tournament record.Carley Robins homered twice for the Indians (28-9), who advance to Friday's championship game against No. 5 Bondurant-Farrar (29-12). Game time is 2:30 p.m.Sarah Pate was 4-for-5.Raelyn Webster hit a pair of home runs for New Hampton (28-10). The Chickasaws face Sergeant Bluff-Luton in the third-place game.
