Scouting Report:This is a matchup of the four and five seeds, with MV the four. The Mustangs tied with top-seeded and top-ranked Dyersville Beckman for the championship of the Wamac Conference's East Division. They have not allowed a run in the postseason, posting three shutouts. Two of those have been by senior right-hander Cal Kragenbrink, who is 5-0 with a 0.47 earned run average. Shortstop Trey Ryan leads MV with a .407 batting average. He and catcher Conner Welch have team-best 28 RBIs. Mount Vernon will play without regular left fielder Nate Hansen, who is out with mononucleosis. Roland-Story lost seven of its final 10 regular-season games but has rebounded in the postseason. Pitcher Zach Hovick has an 11-3 record and 1.25 ERA, allowing just 66 hits and striking out 103 in 89.1 innings. Only three players have batting averages over .300 for R-S.

Scouting Report:These Wamac Conference foes split a double-header in the regular season: Beckman winning, 4-3, and Columbus, 9-2. Beckman is defending 2A champ and the top seed. Columbus is the eight seed. Senior pitcher Joey Lehmann is 11-0 with a 0.34 earned run average this season for Beckman and has not lost in his varsity career. He has allowed just 34 hits and struck out 119 this season in 83 innings. Levi Lawrence leads the Blazers with a .390 batting average. Ian Ross is hitting .354 with a team-best 36 RBIs. Luke Farley of Columbus leads the 2A field with 52 RBIs. He has a .438 batting average. Pitcher Konnor Horan has a 1.38 ERA and beat Beckman in the regular season.
