Twisters' Smith shines at Twistin' to the Top
Elise Smith of Twisters Gymnastics captured three titles and placed second in two other Level 4 events at the Twistin' to the Top meet earlier this month.
Smith won the bars, floor exercise and all-around.
Other Twisters winners were Aubrey Gilliland (vault), Sydney Cira-Debban (beam), Hallie Ruby (bars), Reese Wilson (floor, all-around), Adria Knudson (floor), Corrin Williams (floor) and Serena Rupert (floor) in Level 3; Lacey Neighbor (bars), Emily Crumbo (bars), Carlie Mather (bars) and Peyton Sands in Level 4; and Megan Hendrickson (bars), Anna Penning (bars) and Bree Lewis (floor, all-around) in Level 5.
Other placewinner were Victoria Barbieri, Kylie Link, Peyton Krotz and Amera Nakuritimana in Level 3; Sophia Barbieri, Reese Miller and Alexis Wheeler in Level 4; Leah Hendrickson, Ashley Grice, Taylor Peterson, Lindsey Carnahan, Gabriella Schroud and Emma Lewis in Level 5.
Winterowd, Smith power CRAG
Riley Smith in Level 4 and Lily Winterowd in Level won three events each for the Cedar Rapids Association of Gymnastics at the recent Twistin' to the Top meet.
Both won the beam, floor exercise and all-around.
Other CRAG winners were Ava Andrews (vault, beam), Brooke Glasbrenner (vault), Shea Johnson (bars) and Madilyn Tumilty (bars) in Level 3; and Elizabeth Anderson (beam), Caitlin Conner (beam), Sophia Wilbanks (vault) and Grace Zaugg (floor) in Level 4.
Placewinners were Lexie Goldsmith, Jaeden Humphries, Autumn Poston, Anna Weaver and Bethany Young in Level 3, Maanasa Chinnakonda, Sidney Davidson, Natalie Freeman, Ashton Kapelanski, Alyssa McAleer and Grace Walker in Level 4.
Krystofiak wins punt, pass, kick competitions
Mary Krystofiak of Cedar Rapids won the girls' 12-13 year old division at local and sectional punt, pass and kick competitions recently.
Krystofiak punted 91 feet, passed 79 feet and kicked 72 feet at the local event in Mount Vernon, winning with a total of 242 feet.
At the sectional in Evansdale, she totaled 194.6 feet, winning by half a foot.
The four highest sectional scores advance to an NFL game in Minnesota.
