Gazette/Iowa Prep Sports boys' basketball poll (Week 2)

Lots of upheaval in the lower classes, though the numbers ones remain the same in the second Gazette/Iowa Prep Sports boys' basketball poll of the season.It's still Iowa City West as the top team in Class 4A. The Trojans won twice easily last week to extend their win streak to 56 games, the longest ever for a big-school team.As a matter of fact, numbers two, three and four remained the same (Bettendorf, Dubuque Senior, North Scott) in 4A, with Ankeny Centennial jumping from No. 7 to No. 5. Former Cedar Rapids Kennedy Coach Bob Fontana has the Jaguars rolling at 5-0.Des Moines North, Sioux City East and Linn-Mar joined the top 10. It might seem strange to see 2-2 Linn-Mar there, but the Lions have played an incredibly tough early schedule and beat a good Southeast Polk team on the road last Saturday.Harlan (4-0) is still tops in 3A, though Cedar Rapids Xavier dropped from second to sixth after a loss last Friday to Dubuque Hempstead. Clear Lake is the new No. 2, with Dubuque Wahlert jumping from seventh to third. Solon is solid at No. 5.Western Christian is 3-0 and remains the top-ranked team in Class 2A. Second-ranked Carroll Kuemper was drubbed by 3A Carroll and falls to fourth.Rock Valley is the new No. 2, with Cascade at No. 5 and MFL/Mar-Mac No. 10.The top four in Class 1A remain identical, led by No. 1 Newell-Fonda (5-0). Keota (4-0) moves up a spot from sixth to fifth, with Nodaway Valley, Gladbrook-Reinbeck and Lake Mills all joining the rankings at eight, nine and 10, respectively.Here are all of the rankings:
