The Gazette/Iowa Prep Sports boys' basketball poll - Week 3

Dec. 23, 2013 1:05 pm
Not much change in this week's poll.
In fact, it's the same 10 teams in Class 2A, just a flip flop at second and third involving Rock Valley and Fort Dodge St. Edmond. Rock Valley dropped to No. 3 after a one-point loss last week to Class 3A MOC/Floyd Valley.
Western Christian (5-0) is still No. 1. Cascade stays at fifth, New Hampton seventh and MFL/Mar-Mac 10th.
In Class 4A, the top five teams remain as they were last week. Iowa City West, Bettendorf, Dubuque Senior, North Scott, Ankeny Centennial, Sioux City North and Des Moines North all are unbeaten.
Harlan, Clear Lake and Dubuque Wahlert remain the top three in Class 3A. Solon dropped to No. 9 after a loss to DeWitt Central, which jumped to sixth.
The most upheaval is in Class 1A, where Ankeny Christian, Gladbrook-Reinbeck and Lake Mills all fell out, in favor of Springville, Lamoni and Sidney.
Here are all of the rankings, with last week's ranking in parentheses.
The season doesn't restart until after the New Year. Happy Holidays everyone!
