No easy fix to problems caused by Obamacare

I am writing in response to the letter writer who complains of getting “more confused” every time he drives by the “anti-Obamacare sign” north of Cedar Rapids near the Interstate 380 right of way (“Angry signs don't add to discourse,” Jan. 8 by Jonathan Burke).

Let me help end his confusion. Throughout 2009-10, the president said, on at least 14 occasions as the Affordable Care Act (ACA) was being considered, that “If you like your health care plan, you can keep it. Period.”

I like my current health care plan. I want to keep my current health care plan. But it will be canceled at the end of this year because it is not ACA compliant. My insurance agent has told me to be prepared next year to pay 67 percent to 100 percent more to get a comparable ACA-compliant plan, if I choose to get insurance.

I don't see any grammatical/punctuation problems with the sign which he finds offensive. Quite frankly, the sign says it all. Period.

I have the perfect solution to the letter writer's umbrage toward the sign: Keep your eyes on the road. If only my insurance problem could be so easily solved.
