DES MOINES -- Center Point-Urbana's Brock Rathbun was in trouble. The top-ranked 113-pounder was tilted over for nearfall points in the third period by West Delaware's Patrick Woods during a 2A quarterfinal match Friday morning. That put him in a 3-0 hole with just a minute remaining. But from there, Rathbun stole the match from Woods, the second-ranked opponent who beat him in the finals last year.
Rathbun snuck out from the bottom for a reversal and then intentionally let Woods escape to go for a match-tying takedown. He earned it on a second-effort shot attempt with just two seconds remaining in the match to force overtime. In the extra period, a dejected Woods forced a quick shot and Rathbun circled around for a match-winning takedown.
