Ballard 55, Davenport Assumption 45Assumption's hopes for a fourth consecutive championship came to a halt, as No. 7 Ballard (21-4) ruled the second half.Down 27-22 at intermission, the Bombers shot 64 percent in the second half. Assumption (17-7) shot just 19 percent.Emily Knittel led the Bombers with 21 points. Meredith Ossian added 19.Belle Thrapp and Makinze scored eight apiece for Assumption.

Southeast Polk 68, West Des Moines Valley 60The defending-champion Rams overcame an early 17-4 deficit and kept alive their hopes for a repeat.No. 9 Southeast Polk (17-6) got back into the game in the second quarter, led 31-28 at halftime, then pulled away in the fourth quarter.Abby Penquite led the Rams with 17 points. Annie Penquite added 13 points and 16 rebounds, and Jessica Cole tacked on 13 points.Grace Vander Weide led Valley (22-3) with 16 points.The teams combined for 19 3-pointers, including 10 by Valley.
West Des Moines Dowling 62, Waukee 56
Becca Hittner scored 24 points, hitting 6 of 8 floor shots and 11 of 12 from the line, as No. 5 Dowling withstood a last-ditch sprint by the No. 4 Warriors.Dowling (21-3) enjoyed a 58-44 lead with less than a minute to play before the Warriors made a late run. It was 60-56 in the final seconds before Dowling escaped.Hayden Butler added 14 points for the Maroons. Audrey Faber scored 10.Reilly Jacobson and Taylor Wingert tallied 17 apiece for Waukee (20-4). Jacobson grabbed 11 rebounds.

Newell-Fonda 65, Colo-Nesco 34
Claudia Larson posted 20 points and 20 rebounds, and top-ranked Newell-Fonda (24-2) activated the continuous clock.The Mustangs led 36-21 at halftime, then blew it completely open with a 23-3 third quarter.Renee Maneman and Brianna Wells scored 10 points apiece for Newell-Fonda, which will play Thursday's Janesville-Burlington Notre Dame winner for the title Friday night.Caitlyn Riese led Colo-Nesco (24-2) with 17 points and nine rebounds.
