Anderson, Gene Allen

Gene Allen Anderson, 83, of Washington, Iowa, died Sunday, Sept. 22, 2013, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics following a brief illness. Celebration of life services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Sept. 27, at the Faith Baptist Church with Pastor Harald Gruber officiating. Military honors will be accorded following services at Faith Baptist Church. Visitation will begin T 2 p.m. Thursday at the Jones & Eden Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Interment will take place at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Hesper Lutheran Cemetery in Hesper, Iowa.

Memorials have been established for the United Presbyterian Home, Faith Baptist Church or the memorial of donor's choice.

Gene is survived by one daughter, Jan Sue Ellingson and husband Robert of Dike; one son, Ross Anderson and wife Janee of Washington; four grandsons; three great-grandsons; one granddaughter-in-law; one brother, Merle Anderson of Elgin; and many nieces and nephews.
