Permit to carry isn’t public’s business

To the editor:
I disagree with your premise the public has a right to know who has a permit to carry a gun.
Does the public have a right to know addresses and birthdays? But let's go a step further.
If we believe in the public's right to know let's also publish names, addresses and birthdays of all people receiving public funds, including welfare recipients. After all, they are receiving tax dollars.
