To the editor:
Recently, my husband has been to the VA Hospital in Iowa City. We have nothing but good things to say about the appointments, care and all facets of the experience. Everyone has been very pleasant, helpful and welcoming to the hospital. We are so fortunate to have this hospital so close for our veterans.
While I was waiting for my husband's procedure to be completed, I was sitting close to the office in the department. I had the experience to listen to the secretary who was making calls to remind patients of their appointments. She was so pleasant to the people she was calling, and always added a little personal comment to each of them. These calls went on for several hours and she maintained her very pleasant attitude all that time. That is typical of the employees at the VA.
I hope if you need medical help that you will be able to take advantage of this facility.
