Missing you!

Missing you!

Missing You!

For over two months, our family and the Kid's Kampus staff

have grieved over the loss of Alaina, who left us due to the

tragedy at the lake.

The Johnson County Medical Examiner provided us with the autopsy report that provided answers. The medical examiner found Alaina had a large bruise on her head and face, most likely caused by

being accidentally bumped or kicked while under water. He also

discovered that Alaina suffered from a heart rhythm abnormality

referred to as cardiac channelopathy. This is a rare, genetic

condition that can cause sudden unconsciousness, seizures and even cardiac death in an otherwise healthy individual. Triggers, such as exertion or swimming, can cause the heart to spiral

uncontrollably into a life-threatening, potentially lethal rhythm.

Despite Alaina having regular checkups over the past four years with her cardiologist, her condition had not been discovered.

Had I been standing right next to Alaina in the water and reached her immediately, there would have been nothing I could have done to reverse her condition. She could have been playing on the beach and the end result would have been the same.

My family and I are finding peace in the midst of our loss. I am so thankful for your continued support given to my family and my staff.

Alaina - our house is quiet without you and we miss you every

moment of the day. We will meet you at heaven's gate.

- Love, Mom and Dad and your family
