Live Coverage: Rep. Rod Blum holds Cedar Rapids town hall
The Gazette
May. 9, 2017 6:30 pm
U.S. Representative Rod Blum is holding the second of four town halls in Cedar Rapids tonight.
Attendance is expected to be high and will be limited to those in Blum's first congressional district. But for those who cannot attend, we will have live video of the event.
Blum's first town hall on Monday in Dubuque was a contentious one in front of a crowd of more than 1,000. The interest in attendance has been spurred on by a vote last week in the U.S. House to reform the health care system, known other various names such as the American Health Care Act (AHCA) and Trumpcare.
Blum has defended his affirmative vote on the bill last week, stating that despite the process and bill being imperfect it was necessary to approve the bill to allow the U.S. Senate to take up the issue.
