Some tornado activity has been spotted in the storms headed northeast toward Johnson and Linn County, this has resulted in a tornado warning in addition to the severe thunder storm warning already in effect.of the tornado warning, first spotted near Brighton.

Washington County in southeastern Iowa... * Until 700 PM CDT * At 619 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado was located near Brighton, or 10 miles southwest of Washington, moving northeast at 55 mph. HAZARD...Tornado and quarter size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated rotation. IMPACT...Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without shelter. Mobile homes will be damaged or destroyed. Damage to roofs, windows, and vehicles will occur. Tree damage is likely. * This dangerous storm will be near... Washington around 630 PM CDT. Ainsworth around 635 PM CDT. Riverside around 645 PM CDT. Lone Tree around 650 PM CDT.
