62, of Cedar Rapids, died in her home on Aug. 2, 2021. Services: 6:30 p.m. Monday, Aug. 9, at Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories, where a visitation will begin at 4 p.m. Inurnment: 1 p.m. Tuesday
in Belmond Cemetery in Belmond, Iowa. Cedar Memorial Park Funeral

Survivors include her sister, Sharon (David) Ross
of Mankato, Minn.; her dear friend, Jeanne (Jim) Schumacher of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; her nieces, Katie (Joe) Kukulski of St. Bonifacius, Minn., and Baby Kulkulski making Joann a soon to be great-aunt, and Emily (Nick) King of Ames, Iowa; her "nephews," Jamie Suer of Colorado and Nick (Christina) Suer of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; her "niece," Carrie (Greg) Murphy of Center Point, Iowa; and great-"niece" Aspen Murphy of Center Point, Iowa.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Joann was born on Nov. 22, 1958, in Belmond, Iowa, the daughter of Bernard and Helen (Petersen) Haupt. Joann retired as a mail-sorter from the Cedar Rapids Postal System. She was a member of the Iowa Association for the Deaf-past treasury, and the Cedar Rapids Association for the Deaf. She was a positive person-always supporting and giving fund raising events for the deaf. Joann was an avid Hawkeyes and Chicago Cubs fan.
