Kay Gustafson, 84, of
Cedar Rapids, formerly of Stanley, died Friday, July 23, 2021.
Kay, the daughter of Alvin and Irene Gustafson, was born and raised in Stanley, Iowa. She received a
Bachelor of Music cum laude from the University of Iowa and Master of Music in piano from Southern Illinois University. She taught piano and music appreciation and studied music in Salzburg, Austria, and Lucerne, Switzerland. She was very active with the Beethoven Club in Cedar Rapids, a Master Gardener and was passionate about birds. Kay had a dramatic flair for telling stories and loved to laugh.
She was preceeded in death by her sister, Jeannine Paschal; and brother, Howard Gustafson.
Kay is survived by MaryAnne Foltz and 11 nieces and nephews.
