ROSA ELVIA RODRIGUEZ
Cedar Rapids
Rosa Elvia Rodriguez, 62,
of Cedar Rapids, died Saturday, July 31, 2021. Funeral Mass: 10 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 5, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Cedar Rapids, by the Rev. Aaron Junge. Visitation: 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Stewart Baxter Funeral & Memorial Services, Cedar Rapids, where a rosary will begin at 6 p.m. followed by a vigil service. Burial: Mount Calvary Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include her siblings, Rodolfo (Cecilia) Rodriguez, Alicia (Adalberto) Torres, Juanita (Everardo) Luna, Reynaldo (Columba) Rodriguez, Angelica (Richard) Riha, Juan Cruz (Ana) Rodriguez, Francisco (Maria) Garcia and Rafael (Danielle) Rodriguez; and many nieces and nephews.
Rosa was born March 22, 1959, in Mexico, the daughter of Felipe and Maria (de La Luz) Rodriguez. Upon graduating from high school, she worked for Options of Linn County for nearly 30 years. Rosa enjoyed bowling, being outside and spending time with kids, especially her nieces and nephews.
Rosa's outward appearance was not a match for her keen sense of observation and analysis. She thrived in a structured environment, but adapted well to challenges in learning and communicating. Her family will miss all of the love and happiness she brought into the world.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Bertha Garcia; four infant siblings; and nephews, Luis Torres and Hugo Luna Jr.
Memorials may be directed to Options of Linn County.
A special thank you to Crestview Care Center, Villa Care Center, ManorCare Health Services and UnityPoint Hospice for their compassionate care of Rosa.
Please share your love and memories with Rosa's family on her Tribute Wall at www.stewartbaxter.com under obituaries.
