Locker room is tastefully decorated

Minnesota-based Gender Justice apparently believes that the University of Iowa may have put itself in legal jeopardy because the visitors' locker room at Kinnick Stadium is painted a shade of pink.
It would seem Jill Gaulding believes pink is a weak, feminine color and one that is frequently associated with homosexuals. Talk about stereotyping, Gaulding is certainly contributing to the problem.
I have heard that when the original pink paint job was done at Kinnick many years ago, it was chosen because the paint was on sale. When someone complained that Coach Hayden Fry would not approve of the color, the coach, a psychology major, commented that as a more passive pastel color, it might provide a less stimulating environment. I never have heard anyone say or imply that the color was intended to represent gender weakness or sexual orientation.
The visitors' room is really a beautiful and tastefully decorated color closer to mauve. I am offended by Gaulding's reinforcement of stereotypes.
