Kajtazovic a proven fighter for American dream

I am a lifelong Democrat who must choose among five excellent candidates running for the 1st District seat being vacated by U.S. Congressman Bruce Braley.
Because we have never had a woman from Iowa represent us in Congress, and there are three very capable women running, I plan to vote for one of them. My criteria do not include being a resident of my city or simply name recognition. One woman candidate left the Legislature to take a job offered by Gov. Terry Branstad and the other has only recently declared herself a Democrat.
I am choosing the real Democrat who truly knows middle class values and is a demonstrated progressive. Anesa Kajtazovic, a state representative in her second term, has a proven voting record, standing for fairness for all. At age 10, she came with her family to the United States from war-torn Bosnia after four years in a refugee camp. She completed two college degrees in three years. She clearly knows hard work.
That is why I am voting for Kajtazovic, who will fight for all residents of the 1st District who are trying to achieve and maintain that same American dream.
