Kathleen Francis (O'Kelly) Herrman, 82, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed away in her home July 26, 2021. A visitation will be held from
5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 3, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home in Cedar Rapids. A funeral service will be held
at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 4, at the funeral home. Entombment will follow at The Linwood Cemetery Mausoleum.
Kathleen was born July 27, 1938, to John and Corrine (Darrow) O'Kelly in Providence, R.I. She was united in marriage to Lonny Herrman June 21, 1961, in Newport, R.I.
Kathleen is survived by her husband, Lonny Herrman of Cedar Rapids; children, Karen Herrman (Terry) McClenathan of Cedar Rapids, John Herrman of Wilton, Rose (Kurt) Reed of Shellsburg, Debra (Dan) Roberts of Davenport and Kathleen (Randy) Swenka of North Liberty; and siblings, William (Janet) O'Kelly of Kingman, Ariz., Liz Silvia of R.I., Eva O'Kelly (Tom) Carriero of Massachusetts and Elaine (Gene) Riley of North Carolina; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Kathleen was preceded in death by her parents, John and Corrine O'Kelly; son, Jerry Kevin Herrman; son-in-law, Dan Roberts; sister, Mary Anne (Charlie) Carriero, Corrine (Bill) Lee; and brothers, Tom O'Kelly and Jimmy O'Kelly.
Kathleen had a love for sewing. She also liked to buy things for her grandkids at Goodwill and spending time with them. Kathleen loved spending every moment with her husband of 60 years. He was her world.
