Our schools need updated, repaired

Although my children are grown, I feel that our schools need to be updated and repaired and we are all responsible for them.
In response to the increase in taxes proposed by the superintendent of schools, I have no problem with voting for this increase if we can have an absolute guarantee that the income generated will be used for only repairs and/or new construction of school buildings and not diverted to other uses such as increases in salaries of administration and teachers as has happened at times with other taxes, i.e., Social Security, Medicare, county and city taxes.
Somehow, these taxes seem to get diverted to other venues, which is why our streets and highways are in horrible condition. Moneys that were earmarked for these repairs and upgrades were diverted to some other trivial issue.
Give the taxpayers/voters a guarantee that you will use these funds for only its intended purpose and I don't think you will have a problem getting a positive vote.
