Debra Jane Hoppe, 69, of Hiawatha, passed away Saturday, July 24, 2021, at St. Luke's Hospice in Cedar Rapids.
Deb was born on Nov. 12, 1951, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. The daughter of Roy V. and Marguerite K. Hagerman (Moore). She graduated from Kennedy High School. She was united in marriage to Henry Hoppe on April 30, 1976. Deb enjoyed being surrounded by her family, especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed going out dancing and vacationing often with her husband. Deb's favorite pastime was shopping and spoiling her grandchildren. She had an intense love for jewelry.
Deb is survived by her husband, Henry Hoppe (Hiawatha); two daughters, Karla (Sean) Dippel of Robins and Kristina Waybill of Hiawatha; Seven grandchildren, Ashley Hoppe. Dakota Dippel, Isabella Dippel, Braxten Marshall Gage Waybill, Alexiyah Waybill; and Tayden Waybill; two great-grandchildren; sister, Carol (Bob) Camenisch; brother-in law, Jon Dales; and many nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death were her parents; son, Timothy; sister, Janice; brother, Jerry; nephew, Brad; and lifelong best friend, Georgeann.
Henry and Kristina would like to thank the hospice team at St. Luke's for their dedication to their patients and the comfort they provided to our family. Also, a very special thank-you to Shelia Gillis and Melissa Chambers who came into our home and helped provide care for Deb ensuring her wishes were granted to stay home with her husband in her final days.
