Boy hurt when struck by car in Maquoketa

MAQUOKETA - A 9-year-old boy was hurt when he was struck by a car in Maquoketa on Monday morning, police said.
The boy, whose name was not released, was hit after he ran into the roadway in the 600 block of West Summit Street around 8:12 a.m. Authorities said an eastbound car driven by Stacie L. Walker, of Maquoketa, was unable to stop.
The injured boy was taken by ambulance to Jackson County Regional Health Center. His condition is unknown, police said.
Walker and two passengers in her car were not hurt.
No other information was immediately available.
