BLACK HAWK COUNTY, Iowa - Officials are looking for an inmate they say escaped from the Black Hawk County Jail Thursday afternoon.
The subject, 25-year-old Jeremy Mask, was last seen driving a blue Mercury Marquee with Iowa handicap license plate Z0010. He's approximately 5'10" with a short brown beard. Officials are unsure what he's wearing at this point.
Mask escaped from the jail through one of its fire towers when two different contractors were working on the facility.
Around 4 p.m. today, officials found a striped outfit like the one inmates wear on the second floor of an apartment building across the street from the jail. He led officials on a short chase through Waterloo in the red Ford pickup, but that vehicle has since been recovered in Toledo.
The last report officials received about Mask's whereabouts were in regard to his robbery of the pharmacy in Toledo Thursday evening.
Mask was in jail for first degree robbery and a probation violation.
