Anna L. Allsup-Straw, 88, of Quasqueton, Iowa, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 16, 2021, at her home following a long illness. There will be a private family service on Tuesday.
Anna was the first born of four
daughters to Cato and Lucille (Campbell) Webb on June 28, 1933. She was united in marriage to Harry S. Allsup and together they raised their seven children. Harry passed away in 1983. She later married Marvin Straw and he passed away in 1987.
Anna was a member of the Quasqueton Union Church, American Legion, Quilt Guilds, several card clubs and the Eastern Star; where she held many offices as well.
Throughout all her travels, her cherished haven was her home. She appreciated spending her time sewing, the art of quilting, gardening, cooking, her music, flowers and was an avid reader. She loved birds and had a great appreciation for nature and wildlife. Her most treasured moments were the ones she spent together with her family. She has been such a loving mother, grandmother, friend and sister, sharing in life's many laughs, joys, sorrows and accomplishments, while always guided by her strong faith.
Anna is survived by five children, Roseanne Carson, Harry (Jackie) Allsup, Laura (George) Arnold, Renee (Dan) Williams and Matthew Allsup; 15 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; her sister, Waneta (Barney) Beasmore; and several nieces and nephews.
Anna was preceded in death by her husbands; two sons, Jeffery and Cato Allsup; daughter-in-law, Cindy; grandson, George Michael Arnold; her parents; and sisters and their husbands, Delores (Don) Cook and Janet (Wayne) Bennett.
