Marjorie Gladys
(Saunders) Clemens, 87, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, died Friday, July 23, 2021, at
Meth-Wick Woodlands in Cedar Rapids. Private graveside services will be held at Oak Hill Cemetery,
in Cedar Rapids, and a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
Marjorie was born on the family farm Sept. 2, 1933, in Jackson County, to Bert and Ida Pearl Saunders. She graduated to high school and went on to graduate as a registered nurse at St. Luke's School of Nursing, Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Marjorie was united in marriage on Aug. 29, 1954, to David Clemens. She was active in the DAR, and a member of the Iowa Mayflower Society.
Marjorie was survived by her sons, David (Deb) Clemens, of Brandon, and Daniel (Julie) Clemens of Cedar Rapids; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Marjorie was preceded in death by her husband, David Clemens; her parents, Bert and Ida Pearl Saunders; brother, Lloyd Saunders; and sisters, Myrtle (Guet) Waters, Beulah (Boo) Duhme and Wilma (Peg) Harder.
Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Cedar Rapids is assisting the family.
