Edna Dori Miner Larson was born on June 3, 1928, a time of little affluence. Her modest beginning was in the family residence in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Services will

be held Wednesday, July 28, 2021, at Calvin Sinclair Presbyterian Church at

1:30 p.m.

Her education by use of local schools was a pleasant experience. She formed friendships that lasted through her high school graduation from McKinley High School in Cedar Rapids. She attended a local college, namely Coe, where classes were attended nightly, and her tuition was made by working full-time by day.

Her only sibling was an elder brother placed for adoption as an infant. She was united with him in her 30's and the time with him until his death at 80 was quite remarkable. Everyone who knew her enjoyed her quick wit.

Edna was loved and she loved in return. Youth did not pass her by.

As an adult, Edna worked as a volunteer for Dennis & Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy for several years. She also volunteered through Kirkwood Community College as in instructor of reading and writing. The teaching of the illiterate is a most rewarding expense of time.

Edna also taught the "Art of Eggery" through Kirkwood Community College. A fun class for all who attended.

Edna also affiliated herself with various creative writing groups. The rewards of these efforts was a Literary Achievement Award and the right to be called an author. She authored a book called "Up Close And Personal."

Latent maturity invited her to marry. She was united in marriage to Ted Larson in 1974 in Cedar Rapids. The marriage was of short duration due to her husband's death from cancer.

Edna went on alone counting candles and reflecting, knowing full well "His Eye Is On the Sparrow An I Know He Watches Me."

Edna attended Coe College, was a member of Calvin Sinclair Presbyterian Church where she served as both a deacon and an elder. She was a member of the Iowa Poetry Association, Midwest Federation Of Chaparral Poets, past member of Project Writers, National League of American Pen Women. Edna was a member of Witwers Writing Class and had belonged to Cedar Rapids Women's Club. As a member of R.S.V.P. Edna served as a volunteer with the Dennis & Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy and as a tutor of Laubach Literacy Program of Kirkwood Community College.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Calvin Sinclair Church.
