Paul V. Fortin Sr. Update: Memorial donations were inadvertently omitted from Thursday's obituary.
Paul V. Fortin Sr., 87, of Cedar Rapids, formerly of Anamosa, died Oct. 7, 2012, at home in Cedar Rapids. Private family burial will take place Thursday.
Survivors include his wife, Laura; two daughters, six sons, 16 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.
He was born Sept. 9, 1925, in Lawrence, Mass. He retired from the Anamosa State Penitentiary as a tool and die machinist. He was a World War II Army veteran.
Paul was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He was a kind man who always put others first and he will be dearly missed by all who loved him.
