Robbers hit NE Cedar Rapids convenience store

Police said two men robbed a northeast Cedar Rapids convenience store early Thursday morning.

No one was injured in the hold-up at Kwik Shop, 2904 Center Point Rd. NE, around 12:20 a.m. Two suspects were involved, and no weapon was displayed, police said.

One of the suspects was white and the other was black, police said. The white man was around 5-foot-6 and 170 pounds, while the black man was taller and slightly heavier, about 6 feet and 180 pounds, according to the police report. Both suspects were in their mid-20s and were wearing dark blue windbreakers.

The men were last seen headed eastbound on 29th Street NE, police said.

Earlier Wednesday evening, around 5:30 p.m., Mama Mia's Pizza and Pasta House, 408 Edgewood Rd. NW, was robbed. There has been no indication from police that these incidents have any connection.

No other details were immediately available.
