Hey Hawkeye fans: Enjoy every sandwich

That's what the late Warren Zevon said. Now that was a wise person.
Instead of stewing about getting to 9-0 and perhaps beyond, enjoy 8-0. Seriously, enjoy it. Because things change a lot faster in the Big Ten than we realize. The cycles aren't even really cycles. The needle jumps up and down.
Iowa was 2-6 in the Big Ten just three years ago. Illinois, currently winless in conference play, was 6-2 in the Big Ten in 2007 and went to the Rose Bowl. Ron Zook was the league's Coach of the Year.
Wisconsin went 7-1 in 2006, Bret Bielema's first as the Badgers' head coach. He was the Big Ten Coach of the Year. Two years later, UW went 3-5 in the conference.
In league play, Michigan was 7-1 in '06, 6-2 in '07. Last year? 2-6.
Terrelle Pryor of Ohio State led the Big Ten in passing efficiency last season. That barely seems possible to Buckeye fans today.
Illinois' Juice Williams threw 22 touchdown passes and led the Big Ten in total offense a season ago. That barely seems possible to Illini fans today.
Enjoy every sandwich.
Zevon
