GOP platform includes extreme positions

Voters should spend some time reading the Iowa Republican Party Platform. Once you get past the usual sanctimonious posturing, there are some real gems.

1.14 The Republicans support the definition of manure as a ”natural fertilizer.” No matter how you spin it, when you dump it into a stream, it's a pollutant and kills everything,

5.2 The Republicans support the elimination of no-fault divorce. Evidently it's preferable that spouses kill each other than be granted a divorce.

6.18 The Republicans believe in removing Native American Nations' status and making them “ordinary American citizens.” Is it time to renege on two centuries of treaties to finally civilize them?

There are many more extreme positions. The Republicans won't be content in taking us back to 1980s with Terry Branstad. They want to take us back to the 1800s. I don't want to go there.
