MEGAN ELIZABETH PEDERSEN
Mount Carroll, Ill.
Megan Elizabeth Pedersen, 24, of Mount Carroll, Ill., previously of Marion, Iowa, passed away Friday, July 9, 2021, at home in Mount Carroll, after succumbing to her depression. Megan has faced a lot of challenges in her life and she was fighting through it. The good things included her fiance, her parents and her work. She lived life with a lot of courage. She forgot about herself that day.
Her memory will be carried forward by family and friends. Especially fiance, Tyler Scanlon of Mt. Carroll, Ill.; her parents, Mike and Lisa Pedersen of Marion, Iowa; and many more family, friends and extended family.
Megan was born Sept. 24, 1996, in Decatur, Ill., the daughter of Mike and Lisa Pedersen. She is a graduate of the Linn-Mar High School. Megan worked at Cottingham and Butler and was working hard toward a promotion. She was the "Best Dog Mom Ever" and referred to the dogs Ruger, Oliver and Freddie as "The Boys." She was also the "Best Cat Mom Ever" to Elle. The dogs and cat were her children. Family and friends were everything to her and she would help anyone in need. She enjoyed vacationing in the Outer Banks, N.C., with her best friend Casey Kindl. Her happy place was on a beach. She enjoyed cooking from a young age and was always trying new recipes to the benefit of other's stomachs. Those who knew saw her inner and outer beauty and will forever be changed by knowing her.
A private celebration of Megan's life will be held for immediate family and close friends.
