Honor Flight gave vet a memorable day

On April 22 I was treated to a trip on the Honor Flight. This was one of the finest days of my life. I saw so many sights in Washington.
One of the most memorable sights was the changing of the guard at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.
I was quite taken to see so many people at the airport on our return to welcome us home. They formed two lines clapping hands, shaking our hands and thanking us for our service. One of the most touching for me was when a little girl (who couldn't be more than 3 years old) stepped up to my wheelchair and held out her little hand to shake my hand. This sweet gesture brought tears to my eyes.
I want to thank Honor Flight sponsors, the staff, the volunteers, the hundreds of greeters at the airports, the pilots, the guides and my guardian for making this day one of the most memorable days of my life. Thank you very much.
