Our beloved mother, Winifred "Winnie" Joyce Parson, 78, of Marion, Iowa, fell asleep in death on July 15, 2021, of various health issues.
Winnie was born Nov. 22, 1942, in Ladysmith, Wis. Winnie married Leroy "Sam" Parson on
May 3, 1958, to start their family together. Their union brought two loving daughters into this world, Sherri Lynn Parson and Terri (Jonn) Lynn Betzer. Winnie had one grandson, Ryan Johnn Betzer; and two granddaughters, Arden Grace and Isabella Althea Lee Betzer; who all survive her.
Winnie was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband; eight siblings; many brothers-in-law; sisters-in-law; nieces and nephews.
Winnie had many joyful moments in her life, from traveling (starting out in a tent and ending with week-long stays in a condo), to her time crafting beautiful handmade items from yarn and fabric. Winnie took immense pleasure in creating her crafted items and the happiness they brought to many.
Winnie had great faith in her heavenly father Jehovah. Winnie was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses in 1962 and was a member of the Wapsipinicon Ridge Congregation in Marion, Iowa.
A virtual memorial service via Zoom will be held at a later date. There will be a private family burial.
