West Delaware wrestlers go 4-0 at all-star dual, Lux earns fall

West Delaware state champions Adam Reth and Dean Broghammer have produced plenty of pins in their high school wrestling careers.They each added one more.Reth and Broghammer scored falls and were two of four West Delaware wrestlers to win during the 35th Annual North/South All-Star Classic on Saturday at Charles City. The Hawks' state medalists Zach Muller (145) and Jacyn Goebel (182) also won in the senior classic.In a battle of state champions, Broghammer pinned Marshalltown's Pedro Gomez in 3:45. In the finals of the Cedar Rapids Jefferson J-Hawk Invitational in January, Broghammer, a Grandview recruit, needed a late reversal and nearfall points to beat Gomez by decision.Reth, who will play football for the University of Northern Iowa next year, decked Osage's Bret Jeffries in 3:34. Reth finished his career with two straight unbeaten championship seasons for the Hawks.Muller beat Nashua-Plainfield's Cody Marks, 4-1, and Goebel beat Clarksville Class 1A state champion Dalton Ciavarelli, 6-2, as West Delaware Coach Jeff Voss led the South team to a 30-24 win over the North.South Tama's Erik Lux, who will compete for UNI next season, posted a pin as well. The Trojans 2012 state champion, who placed third this season, hit Southeast Polk state champion Dylan Blackford with a headlock for a pin in 1:27. Blackford also wrestled Clear Lake's Brice Wilcke, winning that match, 5-0.
