Achievement at Trinity Lutheran went ignored

Trinity Lutheran School was a recent winner in the US Cellular Calling All Communities contest. A team of US Cellular members descended upon our school on Nov. 18 to award us our $50,000 prize.
Trinity is one of 18 winning schools nationwide, with two other winners also being Iowa Lutheran schools. We earned our money through a team of hardworking families, staff, teachers and volunteers who gathered voting cards and voted for Trinity on a daily basis. We will give a portion of our money to charities, and use the other funds to purchase more technology for our school, allowing our students to further benefit from cutting-edge educational tools.
Yet, no one from the news media bothered to cover this event. We may be a smaller Christian school, but we have shown we are strong in spirit and teamwork. It's sad that we are on a national list of winners yet our community paper and news media doesn't care to celebrate with us.
