Why wait for mountain lion to go on attack?

I have read several letters in the past few days that want to shame the hunter and those who supported the hunter who killed a wild mountain lion in our state.
Do these people really want a wild mountain lion roaming in a state that depends on farming and livestock? Do these people really want an animal that has been known to attack people, mainly women and children, roaming the countryside? What will happen when these large predators do multiply or decide to start moving from rural Iowa into urban Iowa?
Do these people really believe that they belong here? Or will it take a serious or fatal attack from one of these animals who no longer have a place in Iowa for people to think twice about having them around?
Kudos to the hunter who took this rogue animal before it took someone's pet or even worse - a child.
