Cedar Rapids area has 5,930 low-income, uninsured women

According to the U.S. Census Bureau, there are 5,930 low-income, uninsured women in the United Way services area, which is Linn, Iowa, Benton, Washington, Jones and Cedar counties.
According to a recent health needs survey, one in four 2-1-1 callers are in need of prescription assistance, eye care and/or dental care.
In FY2011, United Way provided 3,813 women with access to health care including, prescription assistance, eye care, dental care, medical co-pays and maternal health clinics. If you or someone you know is in need of health
care services call 2-1-1 to get connected with providers who can assist you.
