It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Carol Rean Donnelly, on July 8, 2021, at the age of 83, in Bradenton, Fla.
Born in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, in 1937, Carol was the daughter of John Ware Donnelly and Cathrean Thomas, both deceased. She graduated high school in
1957 and the University of Iowa 1962.
Carol lived in Madrid, Spain, for nearly 20 years, where she taught elementary school at Torrejon Air Force Base. Carol met and married Ramon Perales de la Cal in 1969. They lived in Madrid until 1983 when Carol then relocated to Bradenton, Fla.
Carol was a guidance counselor at Abel Elementary for many years. More recently, she was a licensed mental health counselor who enjoyed helping Spanish speaking families through Healthy Start, a County sponsored program. Carol was also a skilled violinist and musician.
Carol's survivors include her three children, Susana Mapu, and her husband, Siupapa Mapu, Daniel Perales, and his wife, Jeannie Hendrick Perales, and Samuel Perales, and his wife, Tolu Babalola Perales; and her grandchildren, Sydni and Sarah Mapu and Kique and Luci Perales. Carol was very close with her two younger brothers, John, and his wife, Sara Donnelly, and Robert, and his wife, Jean Donnelly.
A Celebration of Life will be held at noon Saturday, July 17, at the Southwinds Five Lakes Clubhouse located at 3495 51st Ave. Circle, West.
